Krug Disease in Remission

This was a nice little tidbit from our recent Econ Nobel Prize winner:

"There’s no obvious reason why consumer demand can’t be sustained by the spending of the upper class — $200 dinners and luxury hotels create jobs, the same way that fast food dinners and Motel 6s do."
I thought, perhaps Krugman was being excessively sarcastic, but the first comment on his post settled it:
"Yes the economy they created is the one we are bailing out now - you must have gotten some bad eggnog in Stockholm, Paul."
Ah! I think, perhaps, someone at the Nobel conference slipped him the good eggnog! Here's evidence at the scene of the crime.
