This article was written in 1949

In this Popular Science article (6 pages to the right, How to tell USSR about US). Written about the cold war 61 years ago.

Are wars commonly caused by a lack of "samples of the product"...?

I tend to think that the every war Americans have been in directly (Revolutionary War, Civil War, Cold War, Desert Storm, our current 2 wars...basically any war where we as Americans are 'one side'), this same article says it best....

"...we are trying to tell a vital ten percent of the earth's population that our ways of living and working with each other are better people-operations"

Long story short, this comes before any major capitalism, this comes before being a complete 'product' society - we seem to think that telling people to live the way we would, no matter the circumstances - is the right way.

We Americans seem to overlook these people within our own society much easier than that of other nations. Can anyone say, 'Tea Party'? KKK? etc...

Sometimes I wish that people could let differences be differences - and appreciate it for just that.

Why not, live and let live?
